After winning the toss and batting, the Bullants found themselves 1/1. Tony Caccaviello and Matthew Combe then formed a solid 41-run partnership before Caccaviello was caught by Matthew Kerr off the bowling of Baxter Perry for 21.

The Bullants struggled to score but kept their wickets, with Combe providing the anchor. Troy Dumesny, Justtin Combe, and Jack Combe failed to make double figures, and the Bullants fell to 5/99.

With Combe still at the crease, he formed a vital partnership with Jordan McDonald, who scored ten. From there, they fought to 149 and were bowled out in the 41st over.

Combe finished on 76 (101). Chris Hopper, 2/23, Chaminda Gamage, 2/26, Luke Miller, 2/16, and Baxter Perry, 2/20, were the wicket-takers for the Homers.

In reply, the Homers' innings got off to a bad start, with Jordan McDonald and Matthew Combe claiming the wickets of Luke Miller and Monty Wynne to have the Homers 2/16.

Adam Atwood and Patrick Mills formed a 59-run partnership, and when both fell, Atwood for 39 and Mills for 41, the Homers were 4/94.

Sitting on 4/122 with Gamage and Baxter Perry set at the crease, it appeared they would get the next 28 runs easily, but Matthew Combe bowled Gamage for 15.

In his next over, he got the wickets of Chris Hopper and Oliver Potter, and when Caccaviello got the wicket of Matthew Kerr, trapped in front for LBW, the Homers were suddenly 8/127, needing a further 23 runs to win.

Perry dug deep, and with help from Ben Williamson and Aiden Van, they were able to chase down the total in the 40th over with Perry scoring the winning runs. Combe finished with figures of 4/29.

Stephan does the damage as the Eagles go two from two

After their match was washed out last week, BrimKSH returned in round three with a bang, defeating Lubeck Murtoa by nine wickets at the Murtoa Recreation Reserve.

The Eagles won the toss and sent the Mudlarks into bat, proving a wise decision. Lachlan McGinniss claimed the wickets of Shannon Reddie and William Gellatly for seven and one run, respectively, to have the Mudlarks at 2/8.

Promoted from B-grade, Dale Stephan entered the equation and took the scalps of Joshua Hedt, Cameron Newell, Dylan Eats and Blake Turner in a sensational bowling spell to have the Mudlarks 6/36.

Blake Downer provided resistance, scoring 17, and Nic Ballagh chipped in with 11, as they were bowled out for 65 at the end of the 41st over.

Stephan took 4/5 (5), while McGinniss, who also had good figures, finished with 2/5 (9).

It was a straightforward chase for the Eagles, despite losing McGinniss to a duck, run out by Shannon Reddie and Joshua Hedt.

Leigh Davaston, 38 and Jeremy Preston, 23, remained unbeaten as the Eagles chased the total down in the 21st over, finishing at 1/67.

Eagles captain Isaac McPherson explained Stephan's role and said the team's start to the season couldn't have been better.

"We are excited to get the win and the six points on the board," McPherson said.

"Dale did an excellent job. Knowing that Josh Hedt is a left-handed batsman and Dale swings it away, he did just that, and Tim Bell took an absolute screamer.

"He is a good A-grade bowler and got his chance and took it."

"We also played the way we want to play, and that is to restrict teams and frustrate them."

Warriors bounce back in style

For the second consecutive week, West Wimmera was involved in a blowout result, but this time, they were the winning team, defeating the Colts by ten wickets in a dominant display.

The Colts won the toss and elected to bat, but their innings got off to a bad start. They lost Jay Couch, Dylan Arnott, and Josh Colbert for ducks and Jake McLean for one, falling to 4/5.

Joshua Lees did the damage, claiming three of those wickets, with Nathan Alexander bowling Arnott.

Logan Millar was the only player to put up resistance for the Colts, with the captain scoring 13 runs off 36 balls as they were bowled out for 32 in the 23rd over.

Lees finished with 3/6 (6) with four maidens. Xavier Bone also took three wickets, finishing with 3/9 (6).

The Warriors chased the total down in the 11th over, with Bradley Alexander and Jobe Dickinson not out on 14 and 18, respectively.

Adams leads the way for the Tigers

Angus Adams has continued his hot start to the season with another all-round display in their 80-run win over the Horsham Saints at Coughlin Park.

The Tigers lost three early wickets, falling to 3/9 with Joshua Carroll doing the damage, taking the scalps of Dom Rose and Conor Lawson for four. Brock Hamerston had the dangerous Brenton Hallam caught by Ben Sawyer for a duck.

Adams rebuilt the innings with help from Jake Durdin, 10, and Aaron Leith, 15, and contributions from other players.

When Adams fell for 36 (95), the Tigers were 7/112. Martyn Night scored 17 and helped guide them to 8/159 off their 45 overs.

Joshua Carroll finished with 3/23 (9), and Brock Hamerston chipped in with 2/36 (9).

The Saints' run chase got off to a terrible start, with David Puls claiming Tom Sostheim and Archie Sostheim for ducks. When David Pike fell for nine and Mark Crafter for ten, the Saints were 4/47.

Joshua Carroll, 31 and Ben Sawyer, 14, could provide resistance, but the Tigers bowlers were on song, with four more ducks featured in the innings, which saw the Saints bowled out for 79 in the 20th over.

Angus Adams, 2/1 and David Puls, 2/8, were the pick of the bowlers for the Tigers.

BLOWOUTS THE THEME IN B-GRADE

Blowouts were the theme in B-grade in round three of the Horsham Cricket Association, with all three teams having comfortable wins.

The Colts had the biggest win on the day, a massive 173-run win over Quantong.

After winning the toss and batting, the Colts got off to a great start, with Kevin Purchase and Drew Carmody putting on a solid 39-run opening stand before Purchase was bowled for Jai Smith for 28.

Darren Stephens came to the crease and worked with Carmody to put on another 38 runs before he was bowled by Muzz Wilson for 17.

Beau Purchase and Carmody then put on a partnership of 95 before Carmody fell for 47, but Purchase was able to work with the middle order to guide the Colts to 7/242 off their 40 overs.

Purchase scored 81, and Chris Potter was unbeaten by 17. Jai Smith was the pick of the Quantong bowlers with 3/42 (8).

In response, Quantong was bowled out for 69 in the 32nd over with Brydon McPhee, the star for the Colts. He took 4/7 (4), and Drew Carmody took 2/16 (16).

Quantong's innings were steered by Andrew Vague, 30, the only player to score double figures.

At Dimboola Road Oval, the Panthers remained unbeaten with an eight-wicket win over the Jung Tigers.

The Tigers won the toss and elected to bat but struggled against the Panthers' bowling outfit, led by Jarvis Mitchell, 2/16, Wilson Mitchell, 3/11, and Scott McCurdy, 3/18.

Scott Marks scored 29 for the Tigers, the only to score double figures as they were bowled out for 74 in the 26th over.

It was a relatively easy run chase for the Panthers, with Hugh Weidemann and Leigh Funcke unbeaten on 14 and 19, respectively, chasing the total down in the 21st over to finish at 2/75.

Nicholas Hudson also scored 18 for the Panthers. Chris Eagle, 1/5, and Jake Brennan, 1/18, were the wicket-takers for the Tigers.

The Horsham Saints cruised to a nine-wicket win over the Bullants at the Noradjuha Recreation Reserve.

The Saints won the toss and sent the Bullants in, and Muhammad Hassaan Masood did the damage with the ball, taking 5/24 off 6.5 overs.

The Bullants could only manage 81, and they bowled out in the 31st over, with Dallas Hobbs contributing 27.

Sarmad Saif also had great figures for the Saints, finishing with 2/3 (6).

In response, Riley Lane trapped Les Crute in front for LBW for four, but Sarmad Saif and Alan Dube remained unbeaten on 38 and 25, respectively, to guide the Saints home after 28 overs.

DEMONS AND MUDLARKS REMAIN UNBEATEN IN C-GRADE

The Laharum and Lubeck Murtoa C-grade teams remain unbeaten following comfortable wins in round three of the Horsham Cricket Association.

Laharum made little work of an undermanned Natimuk at Cameron Oval, defeating them by nine wickets.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Natimuk had only nine players. They were up against it, and it showed.

Spencer Weir bowled Lachlan Cutter for a duck, and then Nash McKenzie trapped Callum Cameron for LBW on two and bowled Tyler Coutts for one to have Natimuk reeling at 3/8.

Tom Murray provided some resistance alongside Adam Coutts; however, it didn't last long, as Daryl Scollary bowled Murray and fell to 4/21.

Josh Hutchinson got in on the action, and Natimuk were bowled out for 50 in 17 overs. Hutchinson was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/5 off four overs.

In response, Laharum lost Jack Bardell for a duck early on, but Nash McKenzie and Angus Norton guided them home in the 10th over. McKenzie finished unbeaten on 12 and Angus Norton on 13.

At Lubeck Recreation Reserve, the Homers batted first against Lubeck Murtoa and, despite losing Charlie Hopper for one, made steady progress through Finn Arnel and Terry Arnel, putting on a 44-run partnership.

Tom Eade then bowled Terry Arnel for 28, but Chase Kannar provided 12 runs before he was bowled by Darcy Schultz, which saw the Homers 3-69.

Contributions from Matt Arnel, 27, Jazz Hopper, who scored an unbeaten 13, and Finn Arnel, who scored 29, saw them finish with 7/139 off their 40 overs.

Darcy Schultz was the pick of the Mudlarks bowlers with 2/15 (6).

Seth Callaby and Logan Petering set the run chase well, putting on a 60-run opening stand before Callaby was caught by Chase Kannar off the bowling of David Hopper for 36.

Petering fell for 35, 21 runs later, but Sid Kingston, with help from Philip Yew, Cameron Whyte and Archie McQueen, chased the total down in 28 overs, with Kingston remaining unbeaten on 39.

David Hopper claimed 2/21 (5) for the Homers.

At Dudley Cornell Park, West Wimmera defeated the Jung Tigers by 30 runs.

After losing the toss and being sent into bat, the Warriors made good progress at the top of the order, with Wallace Wheaton, 23 and Tim Braendler, 75, setting the innings up well.

Shane Kessler then was important with an unbeaten 63, as players from fifth to 10 failed to score double figures, which featured three ducks. He helped guide them to 10/199.

Archie Knight took 3/33 (7) for the Tigers.

In response, Tim Braendler took the wickets of Ash Britton and Callum Jackson for ducks early on to have the Tigers 2/2.

Zarli Knight and Gagan Sidhu helped rebuild the innings, falling for 23 and 12, respectively. The Tigers battled hard with a critical 46 to Blake Willis, but couldn't get the job done, bowled out in the 34th over for 169.

Braendler was the pick of the bowlers for the Warriors with 3/20 (6).
