Archie Sostheim won the toss for the Saints and elected to bowl, and the Homers got off to a great start through Luke Millar and Jaxon Crooks, who combined for a 37-run opening partnership.

Miller fell for 28, caught by Riley O'Loughlin off the bowling of Alan Kuriakose, and when Crooks fell for 18, caught by Hunter Schmidt off the bowling of Archie Sostheim, the Homers were 2/53.

Jazz Hopper and Lewis Hofmaier came to the crease, and Hopper scored five from 30 balls and played a supporting role as Hofmaier hit 41 off 34 balls.

Hugh Miller was unbeaten on 16 (11) and helped guide the Homers to 5/132 off their 22 overs.

Kuriakose was the pick of the bowlers, with impressive figures of 1/3 (3), which included two maidens. Darcy Taylor 1/14, Jonty Blair 1/12, and Archie Sostheim 1/31 also picked up wickets.

The Saints started well through Archie Sostheim and Nash McKenzie, putting on a 40-run opening stand until McKenzie was bowled by Jaxon Crooks for 16.

Finn Arnel ran out Alan Kuriakose for a duck, and when Sostheim fell for 27 (48), the Saints were 3/56.

Darcy Taylor provided spark for the Saints, scoring 29 (21) with five fours, but the Saints could not chase the total down, finishing at 6/92 (22).

Luke Miller 2/8 (2) was the pick of the Homers bowlers. Jaxon Crooks 1/6, Jazz Hopper 1/9 and Lewis Hofmaier 1/10 were the other wicket takers.

At the Noradjuha Recreation Reserve, the Bullants defeated Blackheath Dimboola by 90 runs in a comfortable victory.

After losing the toss and being sent into bowl, Blackheath Dimboola struck early through Charlie White, who ran Angus Slatter out for a duck.

Jack Combe and Mason Hair were at the crease and put on a massive partnership. Combe made 50 and had to retire, not out.

With help from Ryder Hudson, who made 13, Hair guided the Bullants to 4/140 off their 22 overs, remaining not out on 41 (58).

Hudson Bond 1/8, Logan Krelle 1/13 and Lenny Clark 1/21 were the wicket-takers for the Bulls.

In response, Ryder Hudson produced a damaging spell, ripping through the top order, taking the first four wickets to have the Bulls reeling at 4/33. When Logan Krelle was dismissed for 22 shortly after, they were 5/33 and had a massive mountain to climb.

The Bullants then cleaned the tail with only Charlie White, who provided resistance with an unbeaten nine.

Hudson finished with 4/2 (3). Jack Combe 1/7, Blake Colyer 1/1, Isaac Thomas 1/1 and Mason Hair 1/2 were the other wicket-takers.

Under-14 mixed abandoned

On Saturday, the under-14 mixed matches were abandoned during the second innings.

At Noradjuha Recreation Reserve, the Horsham Tigers can consider themselves unlucky. They restricted the Bullants to 6/86 (20) with Archie Knight 1/2, Bailey Dridan 1/10, and Harvey Brown 1/7, the wicket-takers, in an innings that featured three run-outs.

Jazz Hopper and Judd Oakley both scored 18 for the Bullants.

In response, the Tigers were sitting on 1/76 (17.3) when rain stopped play. Archie Knight and Lenny Carter were unbeaten on 14 and 8, respectively, while Hugh Miller top scored with 19, retiring not out. Milton Ellis was the sole wicket-taker for the Bullants with 1/5 (2).

At the Dimboola Recreation Reserve, Blackheath Dimboola played the Rup/Minyip Panthers and put up 3/118, with Jasper Ward the top-scorer with 24 (15). Charlie Cooke was the pick of the Panthers bowlers with 2/5 (2). Braxton Starick 1/15 was the other wicket-taker.

In response, the Panthers were sitting at 3/43 off 11 overs when rain halted play. Harry Noonen was unbeaten on 17 alongside Charlie Coote on six.

Lenny Clark 1/2, Clayton Hiscock 1/7 and Jasper Ward 1/15 were the wicket-takers for the Bulls.
