Honouring Wimmera's women with open invitation
As the countdown clock ticks towards International Women's Day 2025, Hindmarsh Shire Council has announced details of this year's celebration in Jeparit.
"The Jeparit Riverbank precinct, located adjacent to the caravan park and tennis courts, will be a hive of activity on Saturday March 1 when the Jeparit Riverbank Fiesta takes place," CEO Monica Revell said.
"Hindmarsh Shire Council and Jeparit Town Advisory Committee are jointly hosting the event to help celebrate the International Women’s Day that occurs on the following Saturday, March 8."
Ms Revell said the fiesta would feature market stalls and food vans from 5pm, a facilitated International Women’s Day – Women of the Wimmera panel discussion at 6.30pm and a live music concert from 7pm with Shannon Tatt & The Flipside.
Vendors interested in booking space for a market stall are encouraged to contact Jeparit Town Advisory Committee by email at jeparittc@hotmail.com or by phone on 0417 348 881.
The concert will be free of charge.
Attendees are asked to take along their own chairs, blankets and refreshments.
The event is expectes to run until about 10.30pm.
