On April 23, students went to Lake Lascelles and had their House Cross Country.

It was great to see so many students participating and giving it a red-hot go.

Congratulations to all students who won or placed in their age group, and well done to everyone who participated.

It came down to the wire and, for the first time ever, Banksia and Yarrara tied on 410 points.

On Thursday last week, we had our Big Breakfast with all students, parents, and teachers before school officially started. It was a wonderful opportunity to have our outside community come in for a breakfast of bacon, eggs, and juice and talk amongst one another.

The school community also welcomed our new Prep-3 teacher, Mrs Barnard, and her family.

April 25 is a National Day of Remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, commemorating all who served and died in our armed forces.

This day is about coming together to remember the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who served our country.

We honour those who fought at the Gallipoli Campaign and in all conflicts since, many of whom gave their lives for our freedom.

On Friday, April 24, the Hopetoun P-12 College School Captains ran our Anzac ceremony alongside Miss Smith and Mrs Wright.

They all spoke beautifully and gave speeches honouring Anzac Day.

Jakob, Esther, and Matilda also represented the College across a variety of services on the Saturday.
