Horsham City continues hot form
Horsham City followed up last week’s win over Horsham Golf by defeating reigning premiers Nhill in round eight of the Wimmera weekend pennant division one lawn bowls competition on Saturday.

Hosting the premiers, Horsham City won two out of three rinks to win 73-63.
Nhill’s rink one team of Matthew Morrison, Brad Blackwood, Ryder Byrnes and skipper Kevin Jones defeated Horsham City’s team of Duncan Bottoms, John Burchell and Bruce Campbell, skippered by Anthony King, 30-17.
Rink two saw Horsham City’s team of William Hogan, Ron Hallam and Graham McDonald, skippered by Ron Dolby, win 26-19 over Nhill’s Nicholas Robin, Greg Ryan and Roger Brown, skippered by Darren Gebert.
Horsham City’s rink three team of Douglas Mitchell, John Lehmann, Kevin Smith and skipper Kevin Clyne claimed a 30-14 victory over Nhill’s team of Ray Olney, Barry Cramer and Ivan Reichelt, skippered by Allan King.
Horsham Golf responded to their first loss in round seven with a competitive 74-67 win over Coughlin Park.
Horsham Golf’s rink one team of Ross Barnett, Stephen Harris, Geoffrey Bald and skipper Ashley Batchelor defeated Coughlin Park’s Damian Byan, Paul O’Shannessy and Peter Beasley, skippered by Craig Decker, 28-16.
Rink two saw a 22-22 draw between Horsham Golf’s team of Adam Galpin, Ken McClelland and Danny Schmidt, skippered by Bradley Robinson, and Coughlin Park’s team of Vincent Antonucci, Mark Schumann and Robin Shaw, skippered by Charles Officer.
Coughlin Park’s rink three team of Timothy Nihill, Allan Thompson, Rowan Hawkins and skipper Michael Ellis defeated Horsham Golf’s team of Roberty Grieger, Hayden Tucker, Denis Ballinger and skipper Gavin Walter.
Dimboola elevated themselves to third on the ladder with a 76-58 home victory over Sunnyside.
Dimboola’s rink one team of Judith Albrecht, Robert Pyers and Joshua Cook, skippered by Daniel Danisch, defeated Sunnyside’s Lane Hyde, Norma Hair and Stuart Cowan, skippered by John Ackland, 31-12.
Rink two saw Dimboola claim a 25-20 victory as the team of Darryl Argall, Shannon Williams and Darryl Both, skippered by Peter O’Loughlin, defeated Sunnyside’s Rod Skurrie, Barry McIntyre and Rex Bergen, skippered by Dale McRae.
Sunnyside’s rink three team of Paul Southcott, Roger MacInnes, Chris Trotter and skipper Gavin Watson defeated Dimboola’s Greg Cook, Wayne Albrecht, Don Connors and skipper Alan Krahe 26-20.
Goroke Edenhope secured their third victory of the season with a 73-65 win over Kaniva at Goroke Bowling Club.
Kaniva’s rink one team of Paul Pearson, Timothy Meyer, Malcolm Coutts and skipper Jeffrey Meyer defeated Goroke Edenhope’s team of Alan O’Bryan, Wayne Caldow and Bruce Acklan, skippered by Philip Robinson, 29-15.
The home side’s rink two team of John Moloney, Travis Crawford and Terry Exell, skippered by Hugh Caldow, defeated Kaniva’s team of Russell Crouch, Steve Duthie and Janet Kuchel, skippered by Bruce Dodson, 34-12.
A 24 -24 draw was played out on rink three between Goroke Edenhope’s team of Richard Smith, Barry Crick, Trevor Mulraney and skipper Geoff Lowe and Kaniva’s team of Robert Puglisi, Darren Maddern, Adrian Coad and skipper Christopher La Rocca.
In division two, Horsham Golf continued their undefeated season to date with a 77-46 win over Natimuk, Sunnyside defeated Dimboola 100-41, Horsham City defeated Coughlin Park 82-75 and Nhill defeated Goroke Edenhope 96-44.
Division three saw Nhill three defeat Nhill Four 72-53, Sunnyside defeated Coughlin Park Three 67-43, Horsham City defeated Kaniva 57-50 and Horsham Golf defeated Coughlin Park 71-31.
