Horsham, Grampians meet Colac
In a historic first, the Horsham Falcons and Grampians United Soccer Clubs combined for their inaugural pre-season friendly, facing Colac Rovers in Ararat.

While the final result held limited significance, Colac Rovers recorded a 7–1 victory.
However, the scoreline did not accurately reflect the contest's competitive nature, with the local side creating numerous scoring opportunities throughout.
The hosts’ sole goal came in the first half, courtesy of Horsham’s Sez McMillan, who capitalised on a goalkeeping error to finish with composure.
Trailing 5–1 at halftime, the combined side could have been forgiven for losing momentum.
Instead, they returned after the break with renewed determination, conceding just two second-half goals and showing greater resilience and structure.
Their intent to compete was evident across the pitch.
Horsham’s Dylan Woodhouse was particularly effective on the left wing, consistently taking on defenders and delivering dangerous crosses into the penalty area, while Grampians United’s Joey Nyarnyirayi also impressed, demonstrating courage in contested situations against larger opponents and frequently winning possession.
The day also marked the official unveiling of the newly established senior competition, now known as the Wimmera & Northern Grampians Soccer League.
Both clubs are continuing to welcome player registrations, with the season scheduled to commence on May 5, 2026.
