Horsham restaurateur guilty of multiple sexual assaults

A Horsham restaurant owner has been found guilty of multiple sexual assaults following a two-week trial in the County Court of Victoria at Ballarat.

Gunaseelan Manoharan was charged with one count of false imprisonment and six counts of sexual assault.

A jury found him guilty of four counts of sexual assault against a child under 16 and one count of sexual assault of an adult.

He was acquitted of the false imprisonment charge and one charge of sexual assault of a child under 16 while in care or supervision.

Manoharan previously operated the fusion restaurant Rooh in Horsham's town hall between September 2020 and 2022.

He was granted bail and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday, September 18 for sentencing.
