Remembrance Day, Monday, November 11, 2024, marks the 106th anniversary of the end of the World War One.

Those in Horsham are invited to attend the Sawyer Park Cenotaph and War Memorial from 10.45 am.

"All the plans are all pretty much finalised now. So everything's ready to go," Horsham RSL Sub-Branch senior vice president Gareth Lane said.

"We've had a couple of last minute changes, but obviously it's always one of those things that happens with something like this."

Mr Lane will welcome guests before poems, wreath laying, the ode and the Last Post.

"We try and time it so that we have the one minute silence at 11am," Mr Lane said.

"It's not a very long service... We're probably finished by about 11.15am."

Mr Lane hopes to see another strong turnout to mark the occasion.

"We have a good range of people that come to both services (Anzac and Remembrance Day) to remember those that have fallen and served in that they might be relatives of the members that have served overseas or fallen overseas," he said.

"That's really good to have those people come along and remember their relatives."

The cenotaph and war memorial also has a seeded pine tree from Vignacourt, France, where a wreath will be laid at the service.
