Sponsor was Matt Richardson, a long time donor and member of the club, thank you Matt.

Fifteen men competed and four ladies played a stableford event.

The winner pair was Jamie Weston and Ethan Gray with a net score of 65.75 shots (gross score 76 with 125 handicap).

Runners up were Richard Bett and Dennis Murray 69.25 (8.75 hcp). Other good score was Gary Krahe and Mick Cheney 69.5 (5.5. hcp).

Ladies winner was Leonie Saunders with 35 stableford points. Julie Koschitzke on 34 points was the runner-up.

Nearest the pin second shot ninth hole was Dennis Murphy. Nearest on the 13th hole was Mick Cheney.

Tomorrow’s draw has Noel Huebner and Ryan McKenzie doing duty. A stableford event will be played.

Last Thursday’s Palace Hotel Meal Run was played by 29 members. The front nine holes winner was Ryan McKenzie with 21 points. Runners up were Tim Bryce and Nick Pietsch, both with 19 points.

Ryan followed this up with 20- points on the back nine to again be the best score. Runners up were Tim Bryce and Ron Thouliss. Both on 20 points.

Needless to say the overall winner was Ryan McKenzie with 41 points (off a five handicap).

Nearest the pin fifth hole was Nick Pietsch, seventh hole was Bernie Naylor and the 13th hole was Nick Pietsch (and guest what, another hole in one).

That is two in two weeks where there has been none for many years. Congratulations Nick.

There was also an event on Australia Day with only six men competing. The event was a stableford with the winner being Dennis Murphy with 35 points followed by Ron Thouliss on 34 points.

Hopefully the weather gets back to normal soon and maybe even a bit of rain. Let’s hope so for the fairways to get a bit of moisture.

Joke of the week

A man who lost his ears in a freak accident has had a ground breaking operation of having two replacement ears grafted on that are made of pig skin.

The doctors are very pleased with the outcome and believe that it is a great success now that the man can hear, though he is experiencing a bit crackling.
