Since 1992 the club has provided more than $3.4 million in sponsorships, offering essential financial support to organisations across the Wimmera.

HSCC manager Daniel Hounsell encouraged community groups to apply, emphasising the impact of the sponsorships.

“We open applications every March, and this year the board has committed to distributing at least $135,000 back into the community,” Mr Hounsell said.

“We want to support groups that may have some funding but need extra help to complete their projects.”

Mr Hounsell highlighted the range of funding opportunities available.

“The sponsorships help with uniforms, sporting equipment and even infrastructure like netball scoreboards,” he said.

“But it’s not just about sports clubs.

"We support community groups too, like senior citizen centres, U3A and social clubs that bring people together.”

Mr Hounsell stressed the importance of funding smaller community projects.

“Some groups just need something simple like new chairs, board games or even blinds for their meeting space,” he said.

“These things might seem small but they make a big difference to people who rely on these groups for social connection.”

Mr Hounsell said the program funded groups across the Wimmera, including Horsham, Nhill, Rainbow, Warracknabeal and Edenhope.

The HSCC manager said the application process was simple.

“The application form is on our website and takes about five minutes to complete,” he said.

“Once a group completes their project, we just ask for some photos to share on social media.”

Mr Hounsell encouraged all eligible groups to apply, even if unsure.

“If you think your club or organisation needs funding, whether for new soccer balls, equipment or even social activities, just apply,” he said.

“It costs nothing to apply and the board carefully reviews each request.”

Applications opened on February 27 and will close on Thursday April 3.

Groups can find all criteria and application forms on the HSCC website, www.hscc.org.au.
