Jane Bunn to headline BCG Main Field Day
Leading Australian meteorologist and beloved weather presenter Jane Bunn will help growers make sense of the seasonal outlook when she opens the BCG Main Field Day at Curyo on Wednesday, September 9.
Presenting in the main marquee from 9 am, Ms Bunn will examine the climate drivers likely to influence the concluding weeks of the critical spring period, providing growers with practical insights as they make key decisions ahead of harvest.
Hugely recognised for translating complex weather and climate information into practical advice, Ms Bunn is one of Australia’s most respected meteorologists and a trusted consultant to farming communities across south-eastern Australia.
Ms Bunn holds a Bachelor of Science from Monash University, majoring in Atmospheric Science and Mathematics, before completing the Bureau of Meteorology’s Graduate Diploma of Meteorology in 2006 as one of only nine students selected nationwide.
She also studied for a semester at Penn State University in the United States, one of the world’s leading meteorology schools.
Following graduation, Ms Bunn started her career as a forecaster with the Bureau of Meteorology in Sydney, Canberra and at the Royal Australian Air Force’s Williamstown Base before joining The Weather Channel in 2008.
Ms Bunn later became a familiar face to regional Victorians through WIN News, where her engaging and practical weather presentations earned a loyal following.
She also supplies specialist weather advice to the Country Fire Authority, the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, and a wide range of organisations across the agricultural sector.
Her presentation will launch a day full of agricultural innovation, research and farmer discussion at the BCG Main Field Day.
