Netballers across the state were talent-identified based on performances through Netball Victoria’s Association Championships.

Horsham District League juniors Ruby Williams, Maya Przibilla, Georgia Foster and Kate McDonnell have been selected to try out for the Talent Academy.

After a successful representative season where the under 15s and under 17s sides made the state association championship finals, an abundance of Wimmera Football Netball League players were selected to trial.

Those netballers were Evie Harrington, Olivia Taylor, Giselle Clugston, Stella Fratin, Karla Hallam, Ruby Janetzki, Piper Knorpp, Zahli Mellor, Hailey Tippet, Malaya Willmore and Eden Woodward.

Additionally, Wimmera league’s Lauren Clyne, Chelsea Ellis and Cara Tippet all received invitations to trial for the state’s under-19 team.

Vernetta Taylor, coach of the Horsham Saints' A grade and under 15 netball teams, congratulated the Saints players on their selections.

“We had Olivia Taylor and Hailey Tippet from the under 15s invited to trial for the Talent Academy, and Chelsea Ellis and Cara Tippet are invited to trial for the under 19s,” Taylor said.

“That’s a really fantastic achievement for them and, yeah, really proud of them.”

Selection into the Netball Victoria Talent Academy program provides young athletes development opportunities, working as an avenue to selection to state and national teams in the future.

Athletes will undergo a selection process before Netball Victoria's Talent Academy and state teams are announced later in the year.
