Junior Tigers roar in round five
Round five of the Horsham Cricket Association junior competition saw a number of impressive performances, with the Horsham Tigers producing wins in both the under 14 and under 16 grades.

In other under 16 clashes, Homers overcame the Blackheath Dimboola Bulls and the Dunmunkle Renegades proved too strong for the Horsham Saints.
On Friday November 21 the under 16 clash between the Bullants and the Tigers saw the Bullants elect to bat at Noradjuha Recreation Reserve.
Isaac Thomas led the home side with 43, while Joshua Price and Judd Oakley chipped in with 13 runs each as the Bullants reached 6/107 in 22 overs.
Jordan Terry bowled an impressive 2/2 for the Tigers while Archie Knight finished with figures of 2/12.
In response, the Tigers hit 4/115 in 20 overs to claim the win, led by a 10-boundary 51 retired not out from Joel Plazzer, while Isaac Hogan scored 16 runs.
Joshua Price (1/4) and Jack Combe (1/8) led the Bullants’ bowling effort with economical overs.
At Sunnyside Recreation Reserve, Homers opted to bat against the Bulls.
Charlie Hopper (34), Jazz Hopper (29) and Finn Arnel (22) scored the bulk of the runs as Homers reached 4/115 from 22 overs.
Archie Ward (1/3) and Max Spokes (1/13) led the way for Bulls with the ball.
In response, Blackheath Dimboola were bowled out for 75 in 17 overs, led by Albert Schorback, who had 53 not out.
Chase Kannar and Austin McLellan were the pick of the Homers’ bowlers as both finished with figures of 1/4.
At Coughlin Park, the Dunmunkle Renegades elected to bat against the Horsham Saints, where they smashed 22 boundaries on there way to 3/196.
Jake McKenzie top scored with 50 retired not out off 38 balls, while Finnian Delahunty hit 48 not out off 32 balls.
Hunter Schmidt led the Saints with figures of 2/23.
In response, the Saints came up short as they finished on 6/79 from their 22 overs.
Riley O’Loughlin top scored for the home side with 24 not out while Alan Kuriakose hit 20 runs from just 10 balls.
Riley Huebner (2/9) and Luke Weidemann (2/9) starred with the ball for the Renegades.
In the under 14s Saturday morning competition, the Bullants and West Wimmera joined the Tigers in claiming round five victories.
Playing at Dimboola Recreation Reserve, the Blackheath Dimboola Bulls sent the Tigers in to bat, where the visitors reached 6/136 from their 20 overs.
Opener Arkie Mackley led the Tigers with 20 retired not out, with solid contributions from Felix Foster (18) and Peter Smith (17), who also retired not out.
Dylan Walker led the Bulls with figures of 2/11, while Edward Schorback contributed economical figures of 1/8 from three overs.
Schorback then led the Bulls’ batting effort with 22 runs, while Oliver Cook had 16 not out as the home side was bowled out for 68.
Eight Tigers bowlers all took single wickets, with Harvey Brown (1/0) and Arkie Mackley (1/1) the most economical in their win.
At Noradjuha Recreation Reserve, the Dunmunkle Renegades elected to bat against the Bullants, where they finished with 6/85 from their 20 overs.
Braxton Skerrick led the Renegades with 20 retired not out, while Lenny McQueen and Jagger Williams each added 10.
Elliot Heard had 2/15 for the Bullants with the ball, while Jazz Hopper starred in the field, claiming three catches.
In response, the Bullants hit 3/134 to secure the victory, with Milton Ellis (22), Judd Oakley (21) and Thomas Combe (20) leading the way.
Lenny McQueen (1/7), Judd Thomson (1/11) and Brodie Matthews (1/12) were the wicket takers for the Renegades.
At Coughlin Park, West Wimmera won the toss and elected to bowl against the Saints, who were bowled out for 61 in the 16th over.
Daniel Dossett led the Saints with nine runs, while Nate Clugston (2/6) and Clayton Hiscock (2/12) each took wickets in the Warriors’ bowling effort.
West Wimmera then proceeded to hit 3/115 as Hiscock (21 retired not out) and Jack Dodds (20 retired not out) starred at the top of the order.
Vinny McKinnon led the Saints with figures of 2/14, while James Mackereth produced an economical 1/5 from three overs.
