The third round of competition on November 8 saw Team Red, comprised of Scarlett and Poppy Mitchell, Sully Magee and Jakob Ryan come up against Eljah Keam, Georgia Evans, Miki Spicer and Heidi Anderson of Team Blue.
The first set of the day was a ripper, between the number one and four players. Minyip sisters Scarlett and Poppy Mitchell (Red) were up against Eljah Keam and Heidi Anderson (Blue). Games see-sawed between the pairs, with neither side taking the upper hand. A tie break was played at 5 games all to decide the winner. Eljah and Heidi took the points eventually 6-5 (7-4).
Georgia Evans (Blue) and Sully Magee (Red) had a terrific singles match, with long rallys and numerous games going to deuce. Georgia took the points in the end for her team 6-4.
The set between number three and four players was another tight tussel. Jakob Ryan and Poppy Mitchell (Red) played a wonderful set with Miki Spicer and Heidi Anderson (Blue). Players battled hard in the windy weather to produce some great service games, exciting rallys and solid volleys. Miki and Heidi clinched the win in a tie break 6-5 (7-5). Jakob, Miki and Heidi all doing a great job in their first season of tennis.
The final set between number one and two players didn’t disappoint. Scarlett Mitchell and Sully Magee (Red) took it right up to Blue’s Eljah Keam and Georgia Evans. Eljah and Georgia hung on to take victory 6-4.
Team Blue were the overall winners for the day with 47 games to Red’s 37 games.

Last Saturday, the fourth round of competition saw a cool start to the morning with the sun making an appearance to provide perfect conditions for tennis.
Puma were up against Asics for the first match of the day. Eedie Rowe partnered with Miki Spicer (Puma) in the number 2 and 3 doubles set against Sully Magee and Poppy Mitchell (Asics). Great rally’s and good sportsmanship were on display, with Eedie and Miki taking the win 6-3.
The singles sets were all hard fought, with many games going to deuce. Campbell Mansfield (Puma) and Lachie Clyne (Asics) showed good shot selection and court coverage, with Campbell taking the points 6-3. Miki Spicer also had a 6-3 win for Puma, with Poppy Mitchell (Asics) giving her some tough competition. In a clean sweep for Puma, Eedie Rowe had a close 6-4 win against Sully Magee.
Puma were too good on the day, winning with 36 games to Asics 15 games.
The second match saw Adidas take on Diadora. Scarlett Mitchell and Heidi Anderson (Adidas) had a terrific contest against Georgia Evans and Jackson Spicer (Diadora). Scarlett and Heidi were the eventual winners 6-4. Both Heidi and Jackson are to be congratulated on their performance in only their second and first matches respectively.
In the number one and three doubles, Evan George partnered with Heidi Anderson (Adidas) in a fantastic hit out against Eljah Keam and Jackson Spicer (Diadora). Sharp volleys and good teamwork were highlights of the set. Evan and Heidi had a win for Adidas 6-3.
Adidas took the points overall, with 32 games to Diadora’s 16 games.
