It was a testing morning for all sides contending in the 2024 HDFNL netball grand finals.

Kalkee featured in all three junior grand finals; however, it could only secure one premiership in the morning, the under-13s.

The minor premiers took home the silverware; they defeated Laharum 23-19.

The Demons got off to a strong start with a 3-0 lead, but the Kees pushed back and went into the first break down 5-4.

A solid second quarter secured Kalkee the lead with an 8-2 run, giving them a five-goal lead at the main break.

As the game settled, the teams exchanged goals; Kalkee maintained its five-goal margin at the final break.

With one hand on the premiership, the Kees withstood wave after wave of Laharum's attack, eventually winning by four goals.

Ella Schultz scored 13 for Kalkee, with Tayla Streeter adding 10.

Stephanie Plazzer scored 10 for the Demons, and Chloe Butsch added seven.

The Kees went into the next game as underdogs, with Rupanyup the minor premiers of the under 15s.

The Panthers were too strong in the end, winning 48-32.

It was neck-and-neck during the first quarter; at the first break, the 8-7 score aptly resembled the tussle between the minor premiers and the second-best team in 2024.

The goals continued to flow, with Rupanyup edging further in front thanks to a 13-10 second quarter.

The Panthers' prowess was on full display in the third quarter, outscoring Kalkee 13-7 to go into the final break with a 10-goal lead.

With a vocal crowd behind them, Rupanyup had its best quarter of the game, scoring 14 goals while limiting Kalkee to 8.

Panthers' goal attack Ilze Van Zyl scored 31 goals and was named best on the court.

Lara Webb added 17 as a goal shooter.

In the morning's final game, Pimpinio overcame a seven-goal margin to claim the under-17s flag, defeating Kalkee 43-35.

The Kees got a hot start and led 10-3 before Pimpinio found its groove.

At the first break, the Kees led 13-10.

Pimpinio clawed back in the second quarter and drew level with 30 seconds remaining in the half; an Ada Binney goal gave the Tigers the lead at the main break.

The sides exchanged goals and the lead throughout the third quarter.

A five-goal run gave the Tigers the edge and a four-goal lead at the final break.

Playing with confidence, Pimpinio's goals flowed; long shots passed up early in the game were converted routinely.

Ava Fitzgerald denied Kalkee any second chances at goal defence at the other end and was named best on the court.

Ellie Slorach finished with 25 goals for the Tigers, while her partner Ada Binney added 18.

Kalkee captain Cadi Streeter scored 21 goals, while Chloe Reinheimer added 14.
