Kaniva snap up ladies pennant championship
Kaniva Golf Club were crowned champions of the Wimmera on Monday when they defeated Warracknabeal in the competition’s final at Horsham Golf Club.

Having scraped into the final in second place on a countback, the Kaniva golfers were able to win three of the five matches in the final to claim their first ladies' title in more than 30 years.
After some big wins in the first four matches, the final match of the day went down to the wire, with matches tied at two a piece.
In the fifth and final match, Kaniva’s Pam van Kempen was able to secure a one-up win and the title for Kaniva.
Kaniva’s win emulates their drought-breaking victory in the men’s competition in 2024 when they also won after 30 years without a title.
For Warracknabeal, it was the second finals loss in as many days, as their men’s side had lost narrowly to Nhill in their final the day before.
