Kerry Lee from Melbourne, a member of the Meet in the Middle group, utilised her time spent in town by looking after an empty garden bed near the Post Office on Wimmera Street.

A member of the Meet in the Middle group, who returned to town for the fourth consecutive year, Kerry saw the space and recognised the opportunity to give back to the community.

"I noticed it and had a few hours to spare," she said.

"We were sad about the Little Desert fire, and we couldn't make it up earlier to help."

Kerry sought advice from local Michele Danisch from Desert Bloom Nursery, who helped plan out what plants would suit the garden.

Plugging in her earphones and listening to the radio, Kerry said she loves to be outside and interacting with plants.

"The town is fabulous to us, and I wanted to give back," she said.

The Meet in the Middle group is made up of women spread from Adelaide to Melbourne, and they recently stayed in Dimboola for a week, exploring the community.
