Ladder leaders lodge big win
Ladder leaders Ararat continued on their merry way on Saturday, recording a 144-point win over bottom-of-the-table Demons in round 10 of the Wimmera Football Netball League.
The Horsham side struggled to impact the score until after half-time, recording only a point in the first half.
They kicked a couple of goals in the third and three in the last quarter but were no match for Ararat, who kept the score ticking, with 6.5 in the first, 7.4 in the second, 9.2 in the third quarter and 5.2 in the last.
Final scores were the Demons 5.1 (31) to Ararat 27.13 (175).
Jack Ganley put himself at risk of a case of leather poisioning, booting 10 majors, while Henry Shea had five goals and Tom Williamson four
Ganely was named best on ground, along with Shea and Jake Robinson.
The Demons' goals came from five individual players in Bronte Campbell, Ethan Worthy, Lachlan Hobbs, Matthew Kerr and Zak Smith.
The Janetzkis – Benjamin and Samuel – were the better players for their side, along with Jasper Gunn.
