Landcare group launches spring campaign
The Rainbow and District Landcare Group (RDLG) is stepping up again this spring to help the community tackle the threat of Queensland fruit fly.

With warmer weeks bringing the pests out, residents are being urged to take action before they damage this season’s crops.
“Fruit fly have emerged in the recent warmer weeks, and together, let’s get on top of this pest,” said group president Bruce Heinrich.
On Saturday, September 6, members of Rainbow Landcare will be set up outside Ismay’s Home Hardware, providing free monitoring traps, wicks, and small samples of natural control solutions for residents to take home.
Locals are encouraged to bring a small, 15ml glass container to assist in collecting the solution.
Residents will also be advised on where to position traps and how to apply the solution.
Landcare is keen to map the spread of fruit fly across the town and will have registration forms available for community feedback.
