Library turns a new leaf
Horsham library will receive a significant boost in its collections and services with a Public Libraries Funding Program.

HORSHAM library can expect a significant boost in its collections and services with a $199,501 investment through the state government’s Public Libraries Funding Program.
Across the state, more than two million library members borrow more than 31 million items from libraries every year.
Libraries have demonstrated innovation and dedication to their communities which have been especially evident during the Covid pandemic.
Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford said funding for libraries was crucial for growing communities.
“It’s great to see the Government continuing to support the Horsham Libraries to deliver high-quality resources for our community through the Public Libraries Funding Program,” she said.
“As our community grows, so do their needs. This funding will provide the Horsham Rural City community with improved access to digital technology and resources, literacy support services, traditional collections, event spaces and workstations.”

Local libraries are much-loved community facilities in Victoria.
To ensure libraries continue their valuable service the Public Libraries Funding Program will provide annual funding with $48.1M being allocated to the programs for the 2022-2023 financial year.
“We’re supporting learning and education, and this funding will ensure that libraries can continue to provide accessible and engaging resources to communities across Victoria through the Public Library Funding Program,” Minister for Local Government Melissa Horne said.
