The Rainbow community is well known for its creativity, with its own art gallery, Performance Space at the Oasis, and so much more.

Sunday night at the Oasis was one of those nights when it is never know what to expect when a new idea is tried.

Organised by the combined churches of Rainbow, it was an opportunity to welcome
people from Rainbow, Dimboola, Adelaide, Queensland, Melbourne and even Cambodia!

Gathered around the fire, stories were shared, songs sung and reflections were made.

The community informally welcomed the new Anglican Priest, Rev Paul Monash, who shared a story of wonder and provision of a need being met in an unexpected way.

A special surprise was the sharing of a story of survival during the Khmer Rouge reign of terror in the 1970’s with Shirrin Yu speaking about the journey and miraculous provision of food and safety as her Grandmother travelled in dangerous circumstances to see her ailing father.

The event finished with a sausage sizzle to enjoy and marshmallows to cook around the fire.

New friendships were made, inspiring conversations and joy shared.

A great night was had by all, and the warmth of the fire and atmosphere balanced the cool of the evening.
