Local identity lost after crash
Former Warracknabeal farmer Dale Huebner, has died in hospital after his ute collided with a tree at Dooen on November 19, just before 7.30am.
The 74-year-old, who lived in Horsham, was travelling north from Horsham along the Henty Highway, to assist his brothers with harvest when his vehicle veered onto the other side of the road crashing into a tree. He is survived by his wife Meg.
He was transported to hospital at the time with serious injuries, but later died.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be established and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
Dale farmed in the Warracknabeal area at Homecroft, with his brothers Lance and Peter and was a long standing member of the Warracknabeal Racing Club committee and a life member of the Wimmera Racing Club.
He suffered a short illness prior to the incident and will be missed by all he knew.
His funeral is to be held at Horsham Lutheran Church today, December 13, at 11am, followed by a luncheon and refreshments at the Warracknabeal Racecourse
This fatal crash brings the total of lives lost on Victorian roads to 271 compared to the 275 lives lost this time last year.
