Locals fire with trebles and doubles
Local trainers have had a week to remember, training ten winners from the twenty races held over the two meetings for the week.

Garry George (Beulah) led in a treble on Tuesday night, while on Friday Michael Callanan (Horsham) produced a double and was a whisker from producing the treble and team Fullerton (Red Cliffs) also produced a double.
George kicked it off Tuesday when his maiden Rapidly came from well back in the field early, storming down the outside to grab the leaders in the shadows of the post and claiming victory.
Scooba Steve then claimed victory in the final of the one-to-four-win VicGreys event, buried beneath dogs early it was a miracle Scooba was still within striking distance nearing the post and when a small gap opened, he charged through and grabbed victory in a nice 23:43sec.
Show Cause then flew the start off the red alley leading early and setting up a good break on the field and she was never troubled, cruising to victory in 23:23sec.
Heather Baxter’s (Murtoa) Fleetwood Odin continued his impressive run of form, jumping to the front in the mixed grade event, Odin cleared out on his rivals giving nothing else a chance greeting the judge in a very good time of 27:22sec.

Callanan kicked it off when Hi Good Thanks was too strong in a head bobbing finish, breaking her maiden status in 23:61sec. Far Out Scout then jumped straight to the front to lead by a length on cornering, straightening for home he held that lead and greeted the judge first in the time of 23:60sec.
Callanan also trained two seconds at the meeting making it a really successful day. Team Fullerton then took out the final two meetings on the card with Dash Express and She’s All Grace.
Dash Express settled second, stalking the early leader and produced a monster finish to win by a head in the last stride of the race, in a flying 23:14sec.
She’s All Grace was a much easier watch for the kennel, jumping straight to the front and winning by three lengths in 23:52sec.
Andrea Gurry’s (Nhill) kennel star Cortez Bale then stepped out in the Grade Four Event and the $1.70 favourite didn’t disappoint, jumping straight to the front and coasting to a near on five length victory in a flying 23:13sec.
