Locals shine in country week
Brim duo Oliver Holland and Sam Williamson alongside Southern Mallee Giants quartet Axel Decker, Colt Decker, Parker Hallam and Maxwell Roberts played well for Wimmera Mallee Cricket Association's under 13's representative team in Portland.
Parker Hallam led the run scoring with 56 and also took two wickets in their five matches. Sam Williamson was second run scorer with 46 whilst taking a wicket and Oliver Holland was third with 35 runs and a wicket.
Maxwell Roberts was consistent scoring 26 runs and taking two wickets whilst Axel Decker was the leading wicket-taker with four with Colt second on three.
The team won two matches during the week. On the opening day last Monday they beat Portland by eight wickets. Oakley Brennan was the pick of the bowlers with 2/4 (3) whilst Oliver Holland top scored with 16.
In their final match, also against Portland, they won 24 runs. Brennan top scored with 10 whilst Liam Stopps took an impressive 3/4 (3).
Parker Hallam had a top innings score of 19 in their five wicket loss to South West.
