UK-based Horsham FC recently won its league premiership, but no one told players to attend the parade.

The English town of Horsham, located in West Sussex, is home to the aptly named Horsham FC.

The football (soccer) team won a rare league and cup double, prompting a victory parade through the centre of town.

About 800 people gathered to celebrate the club's most outstanding achievement.

Just one problem: no one told the players.

"We sincerely apologise for the disappointment caused by the absence of our men's first team players at the event, especially for our younger fans who were so excited to meet their heroes," chairman Kevin Borrett said in a statement.

The club has decided to hold an open training session in July to make up for the mistake.
