MAN IN THE CORNER: It's not often an animal that gets mentioned in The Man in the Corner, but the actions of one kangaroo rates a mention.
Part of working in a beautiful part of the world is sharing it with the abundant population.
Unfortunately, when the hospitality workers finish, the majestic creations are most active at dusk, crossing the country to find a safe place to stay overnight.
So, coming across the roo on the road is common, and most locals can preempt an encounter before it's too late.
Brace, don't swerve, and turn off your high beams: is regular advice.
On Sunday, after one kangaroo decided to wander onto the road, and the worker did everything by the book, time stood still.
The roo stood there, looking at the car, while the human waited.
And waited.
Eventually, the young marsupial turned around and hopped off the road... only to turn around and bounce into the side of the stationary car.
The kangaroo remained unharmed and continued on its merry way.
