Local trainers have started October in a blaze of glory, training ten winners in seven days.

Winners have been spread far and wide, from Horsham, to Warrnambool, Ballarat, and Shepparton. Andrea Gurry (Nhill), Victor Millington (Mount Cole), Garry George (Beulah) and Heather Baxter (Murtoa) all led in winners.

Andrea Gurry was the most prolific with four winners over the period including a double at Warrnambool and a quinella at Horsham. Paw Pavlov and Paw Hunter kicked it off with a kennel quinella at Horsham on Saturday night with Pavlov leading all the way over the 410m journey.

Gurry then backed up at Horsham on Monday, with Paw Olyslagers coming from behind to claim victory in 23:54sec.

The team then headed to Warrnambool on Tuesday and claimed a winning double with Zipping O’Reilly producing an eye-catching win from off the pace, showing great field sense to skip away and win easily in 25:99sec.

Paw Pavlov then backed up his Horsham form and completed a very smart victory stopping the clock in a quick 22:18sec.

Victor Millington was successful with Solar Jessie, Jessie was away well and railed through the turn to take the lead straightening for home and went from strength to strength winning comfortably, stopping the clock in 23:89sec.

Garry George was on the road with his team and kicked off at Ballarat when Mean Peace accelerated beautifully soon after box rise putting a gap on the field and was never in danger scooting away to a four-length victory in a very fast 22:00sec.

George then headed to Shepparton on Saturday night where Mean Peace backed up her Ballarat form bouncing to an early lead and greeting the judge in 22:18sec. Stifler has been knocking on the door with some recent placings and he took the rails run that was provided to him and gave George a winning double on the Shepparton card.

Heather Baxter and Molly Parfett-Oliver headed to Warrnambool with Weblec Shiralee and got the chocolates when the little white chaser speared straight to the front and never gave them a chance, stopping the clock in a very nice 22:25sec.
