Minyip celebrates community spirit
Minyip came together in a heartwarming celebration of community and service on Australia Day, honouring outstanding citizens of their contributions.

Gina Gellion was named Minyip Citizen of the Year, recognized for her tireless dedication over the years, particularly at the Minyip Recreation Reserve.
Ray White received the Minyip & District Citizen of the Year award for his invaluable work within the Minyip community and the Horsham Rowing Club.
Nina Denham was honored as the Pat Walsh Young Achiever for her significant contributions to the town.
The ceremony, organized annually by the Lions Club, began with an opening prayer and flag-raising led by the RSL members Michael Krause and Peter Byrne.
Special guest speaker Rae Talbot shared heartfelt memories of growing up in Minyip and the people who shaped her journey.
The Australia Day Chairperson Chris Neiwand commended the community’s spirit and the dedication of those who give their time and effort to make Minyip a better place.
The event concluded with a traditional Australia Day breakfast, where residents reflected on the town’s strong sense of unity and appreciation for those who contribute to its success.
