The Burras will enter the matchup fresh after a round-two bye and will look to register their first win of the season.

Madeleine Huggins, coach-captain of Minyip Murtoa, is keen to get out on the field again after their opening-round experience against Laharum.

“The crowd was electric, the girls were super-excited,” Higgins said.

“We took half a quarter to settle, having a few inexperienced girls in the mix, but after that we played some pretty impressive footy.”

Horsham will be looking to bounce back from their round two game, where they lost 53-1 to Laharum.

Minyip Murtoa also lost to Laharum in the opening round, testing Laharum in their 23-12 defeat.

Huggins is looking to apply changes as the Burras aim to win their first game of the season.

“We're going in with a slightly different approach,” Huggins said.

“We still want to see the same tackle pressure and that's going to set the tone.

“The way we move the ball is going to be slightly different.”

The Minyip Murtoa coach has been pleased with the commitment and improvement from the team through preseason and as the season has commenced.

“We've definitely come a long way,” Huggins said.

“We started back in February, so with the late start to the season it's been a long preseason, but the girls have been very dedicated.

“There's a large amount of travel involved.

“We have girls coming from Yaapeet, Edenhope and Stawell so a lot of kilometres travelled.”

Huggins has identified 17-year-old Rory Starick as a player to watch for the team going forward.

“Rory Starick, she's second-youngest on the team, she's playing her first season of footy and she had a great first game, didn't look out of place at all,” Huggins said.

“She's got amazing skills so she's certainly one to watch.

The game kicks off noon on Sunday at Horsham City Oval.
