Naylor wins pharmacy stableford

A beautiful autumn day was enjoyed by the 21 women who participated in the 18-hole stableford event in Warracknabeal on April 23, sponsored by Warracknabeal Pharmacy.

The winner of the day was Marlene Naylor with a fantastic 39 points. 

The runner-up for the day was Sue Sanford with another good score, playing better than her handicap, coming in with 37 points.

The Warrack Hot Bread 5th nearest-the-pin was won by Kaye Picken while the Power and Bennett 7th NTP was won by Julie Bayles.

The Rural Northwest Health 13th NTP was hotly contested and won with a brilliant shot from Leonie Atkin within 1.5m of the hole.  

The Sue Krause third shot on the 9th was also won by Atkin, who is in good form.  

The Shirley Liersch  nine-in was taken home by Atkin once again with 17 stableford points. 

The Warracknabeal dental clinic nine-out was won by Janice Midgley with a great 20 stableford points. 

This week's Wednesday event was a versus par sponsored by Amour Beauty in Horsham. 

There was also a nine-hole stableford competition for the women. 

The winner of our new spinning wheel was Graham Clayton, and Sue Krause won The Palace Hotel voucher. 

The April 19 Saturday women’s stableford was won by Barb Bibby from Portland with 35 stableford points.

This event was part of the club's Easter weekend tournament.

[CROSSHEAD]Roberts and Preston winners

The previous week, 23 women participated in stroke and grandmother events held on Wednesday April 16, sponsored by Jill and Ian Bibby.

The weather was forecast to be warm and so players commenced play early that morning.

As the stroke event took precedence over the grandmother event, the stroke event was won by Di Roberts with a great score of 100/33/67nett.

Kaye Picken was runner-up in the stroke event also with another great score of 97/28/69 nett.

The grandmother event was won by Beth Preston with 96/25/71 nett, and Marlene Pilmore and Shirley Liersch were the runners-up with 73 nett.

Corinne Heintze won the Warrack Hot Bread 5th nearest the pin and Karen Germano took home the Power and Bennett 7th NTP.

The RNH 13th NTP was won by Beth Preston.

Casey Phelan won the Sue Krause third shot on the 9th with three fantastic shots.

The Warracknabeal Dental Clinic nine-out was won by Shirley Liersch with a handy 19 stableford points on a countback from Karen Germano and Vicki Hinkley.

The Shirley Liersch nine-in was won by Julie Bayles with an excellent 20 points on a countback from Julie Koschitzke.

All women who played golf on April 16 qualified for the singles knockout championship sponsored by Max and Lynne Woodward.

A draw has been put up in the ladies' locker rooms and it's requested that all rounds be played by the listed dates.
