Neighbourhood House unites community for Harmony week
Horsham Neighbourhood House brought the community together to celebrate Harmony Week, embracing cultural diversity and inclusion.
This year’s theme, ‘Harmony – we all have a role to play!’ encouraged everyone to contribute to a more inclusive society.
Around 20 people attended the event on Friday, March 21, where they listened to inspiring guest speakers and enjoyed cultural performances.
Madhu Sharma performed a vibrant multicultural dance, while K’lu Say Say welcomed guests in the native Karen language, setting a warm and inclusive tone for the gathering.
Horsham Neighbourhood House manager Charlie Helyar highlighted the importance of the event, saying:
“Harmony Day is a very special day in my heart,” he said.
“It is a day where we all celebrate the richness of cultural diversity in our communities as well as our amazing country we call home, here in Australia.”
He emphasised the event’s purpose.
“It’s a time to recognise and promote respect and understanding among Australians of all backgrounds.”
