New amenities now open
The long-awaited opening of the refurbished Scott Street amenities block is here with the facilties now up to the highest standard.
Designed to provide enhanced accessibility, comfort and safety for all, the upgrade includes accessible toilets, automatic sliding doors and a complete modern fit-out put into the existing facility.
Baby changing tables and hot water will also be installed.
Improvements ensure the facility meets the highest standards of accessibility and convenience, catering to the high volume of foot traffic it receives.
The accessible male and female toilets are now open from 7am to 5pm daily with the plan of later extending the hours to 6am until 9pm daily.
The unisex toilet is available 24/7.
There are still ongoing works being carried out at the site which include installing a new automated door on the unisex toilet and replacing the basin.
Installation of an automated timing mechanism for the electric doors on both the male and female toilets are still left to be done.
The Yarriambiack Shire Council is also planning on installing tourism artwork in the coming months on the exterior infills of the building, aiming to promote tourism offerings across the region.
