The new clinics, located at Alan Wolff Medical Centre in Horsham and Stawell Medical Centre in Stawell, offer free and confidential care to all people, including women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals.

The nurse-led hubs provide a wide range of services, including sexual health education, menstrual and menopause support, cervical screening, contraceptive counselling, STI prevention and management, pregnancy options counselling, and both medical and surgical abortion pathways.

Grampians Health chief operating officer Ben Kelly said the initiative will further improve access to specialised care for regional communities.

“Through these hubs, we aim to provide equitable, high-quality care and reduce the gaps in health and wellbeing of women, girls and all gender-diverse in the regional communities,” he said.

“We understand that there is a rising need for sexual and reproductive care options in the region, and Grampians Health is committed to providing accessible and comprehensive specialist care to our communities.

“This initiative is also a testament to our ongoing efforts to improve care options in regional Victoria, ensuring that all individuals have access to the health services they need, close to home.”

No referral is required to access the services, which also include telehealth consultations and inclusive care for LGBTQIA+ and First Nations people.

Grampians Health clinical director of women’s and children’s, Dr Natasha Frawley, said the hubs will provide a range of services without referrals.

“These hubs are crucial in helping women access the right care, closer to their homes,” she said.

“By offering a range of services without the need for referrals, we are ensuring that women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals receive the support they need in a timely and respectful manner.”
