Noradjuha Quantong back to winning ways

Noradjuha Quantong assured the men’s senior football competition that they are still the team to beat, defeating Rupanyup on Saturday in round 12 of the Horsham District Football Netball League.

The final score was Noradjuha Quantong 16.16 112 to Rupanyup 4.2 26.

Playing at Rupanyup, the Bombers managed to minimise Rupanyup’s wind advantage in the opening quarter, going up 20-6 at the first break before asserting control of the game in the second quarter to lead 69-12 at halftime.

Rupanyup rallied in the second half to limit Noradjuha Quantong’s output, eventually going down by 86 points.

For the Bombers, James Gregg and Damian Cameron were two of their better players, while Daniel Weetra and Alby Kingston were amongst Rupanyup’s best. 

Judah Hobbs led Noradjuha Quantong with four goals, while Blake Turner continued his strong season up forward for Rupanyup, adding three majors. 

The win takes Noradjuha Quantong to ten wins from 11 games for the season.

The bye comes at a convenient time for the league leaders, with forwards Brock Orval, Dylan Shelley and Jye Walters all unavailable in Saturday’s win.
