Outback Mind Foundation's Father's Day tour aims to support struggling dads
AS Father's Day approaches, a regional tour aims to support separated fathers and break the stigma around men's mental health. The Outback Mind Foundation is calling out for expressions of interest from regional communities to host stops on its Regional Victoria Father’s Day Tour, which will travel through seven towns from September 1-7.

Led by founder Aaron Schultz, the tour aims to provide safe spaces for separated fathers to share experiences and connect with others.
Mr Schultz said many regional men are unable to spend Father’s Day with their children, leaving them feeling overlooked and isolated.
“For many men who can’t spend Father’s Day with their children, it can be one of the toughest times,” he said.
“Some cope by turning to alcohol or drugs to numb the emotional pain, and that’s exactly why we want to start these conversations before they reach that point.”
Mr Schultz said working alongside former AFL legend Glenn Manton has been rewarding, describing him as someone who genuinely cares about helping others.
“Glenn genuinely wants to help people,” he said.
“He takes the time to listen, understand their experiences, and appreciate that everyone’s journey is different.”
The Outback Mind Foundation is encouraging regional communities to play a role in the tour by hosting one of the events.
Organisers are seeking expressions of interest from towns willing to provide a venue and assist with catering, helping create a welcoming environment where fathers can connect, share their experiences, and access assistance.
The seven-day tour is expected to visit seven regional Victoria communities, with organisers hoping the conversations sparked during the events will continue long after Father’s Day.
“We want to create a safe space for those men feeling isolated during these challenging times,” Mr Schultz said.
