Scam alert

Warracknabeal Police have had an increase in reports of scams in recent times.

Warracknabeal Sergeant Kylie Newell said there is an increasing number of people being contacted and requested to hand over their personal details in return for a large sum of money.

This is 100 percent a scam as no one from the government will contact anyone requesting any personal details over the phone, including phone number, dates of birth or any banking details including credit cards.

No government body will request a small amount of money in exchange for a larger amount of money either.

These are the ones that local police have seen people report and some fall for, as well as economic times are getting tougher.

Hoon activity

Warracknabeal Police are appealing for anyone who can positively identify the drive of a silver Holden commodore sedan and provide a statement.

The vehicle in question has no plates with some spray painting on it.

Anyone who can identify and provide a statement, contact Warracknabeal Police Station on 5396 2100.
