Ms Brenner said she has worked in general practice administration for a couple of years, reaching out to the community on social media after noticing a widening gap between the healthcare options available locally, compared to in the city.

Ms Brenner said the disparity was something everyone had been aware of, growing up and living in Rainbow, but she was calling on residents to share specific concerns.

"Whether it's chronic health conditions, heart health, eye health, lack of GP access when required, or any other area, your input would be valuable," Ms Brenner said via social media.

She added she also wanted to gauge community interest as she considered establishing a pilot program which would offer bulk-billed consultations with GPs via video link.

It was suggested by some that it was vital for online doctors to form a relationship with the local hospital, while other commenters expressed concern about older people being unable to access the service easily.

A few comments shared concerns about the limitations created by online consultations, while others commented on areas the lack of specialised services in Rainbow, such as women’s health and mental health.

Ms Brenner is calling for community members who haven't expressed their opinions through the Rainbow community page to do so by emailing laurenbrenner@bigpond.com.
