This was one of two similar incidents involving teens in recent days.

Police alleged a group of teenagers stole a Nissan X-Trail during a carjacking in Lynbrook on Monday, September 1.

Patrolling police sighted the stolen vehicle on James Cook Drive in Cranbourne about 12.50am.

Air Wing monitored the car as it travelled at a fast rate of speed on the South Gippsland Highway and Monash Freeway.

Tyre deflation devices were deployed multiple times; however, the Nissan continued to drive towards Melbourne’s CBD.

The Nissan eventually came to a stop as it reached a dead-end on Davidson Street in South Yarra.

Police moved in and arrested three males and a female at the scene.

In a similar incident Southern Metro Region Crime Squad charged four teenagers with a series of alleged offences, including an attempted carjacking in Ashburton and a pursuit in an allegedly stolen vehicle that ended in South Yarra this morning.

It is alleged that a man was parked in his driveway off Nicholas Street in Ashburton on Sunday, August 31, when a stolen Mercedes-Benz parked behind him.

Two male offenders allegedly exited the vehicle and attempted to open the car doors, but they were unsuccessful.

The 38-year-old Ashburton man reversed his vehicle, hitting the Mercedes before it fled from the scene.

The man, along with a 38-year-old woman and a child who were also inside the car at the time, was not physically injured.
