Police to monitor licensed venues over Christmas
As the weather warms up and the end of the year approaches, many come out of hibernation and enjoy a drink or two at their local pub with colleagues, friends and family.

To keep everyone safe during this busy period, Victoria Police have launched Operation AURA in hopes to reduce the harm and misuse of alcohol in licensed venues.
Western Region Division Four Superintendent Sharon McCrory said the operation aims to reduce the impact of alcohol.
"We see lots of road trauma related to drink driving," she said.
"So we're just trying to reduce that.
Locals will see an increase in officers on foot patrol during this time as they make sure licensed venues are practicing the correct responsible service of alcohol.
"Venue operators will be educated by officers," Supt McCrory said.
The operation is set to run until March next year.
