Posties qualifier contested
Warracknabeal Golf Club hosted the annual 4BBB Vs Par (Posties Qualifier top eight) which was sponsored by Greg and Julie Pearson.

Thank you to these two for their annual sponsorship to the Warracknabeal Golf Club.
The winners on the day with a great score of +10 was David Baxter and Jamie Weston which is an exceptional score over 18 holes.
However, they didn’t have it all their way, as they only won on a countback from ever reliable Gary Krahe and Kym Stepney also on +10.
Third best score was Brenton Cheney and Danny Kearns on +9 (also a great score).
Nearest the pin second shot ninth hole was Dennis Murphy. Closest on the seventh hole was Darrell McKay and on the 13th hole was also Darrell.
No women played on Saturday.
Last Thursday’s Palace Hotel Meal Run was won on the front nine holes by Dennis Murphy with an exception 22 stable ford points. Runner-up was Mick Cheney with 20 points.
The back nine holes was won by Gary Krahe with 23 points followed by David Kranz with 21 points (on a countback). May I add that Gary Krahe has played some amazing golf over the last 2-3 years on a handicap of less than 10 for possibly 30+ years.
I say it’s amazing as the same man had a shocking experience of a heart attack sometime ago which nearly took his life. His recovery from that and now playing some of the best golf in his lifetime is something that he should be very proud of. Congratulations young fella. Keep up the good work.
The overall 18 hole winner was Dennis Murphy with 43 points (maybe new handicap next week I would say).
Nearest the pin seventh hole was Bernie Naylor and on the 13th hole was Gary Krahe.
Another golf event was held at the WGC on Sunday which was the Bentley’s Wimmera Mallee Golf Day which also is an annual event and for this reason we of the WGC sincerely thank the Bentley Group for their continued support.
Fifty one players competed in a 3 person Ambrose event with players attending from Kaniva, Horsham, Jeparit, Sea Lake and of course Warracknabeal.
Winners were Ryan McKenzie, Dalton Jaensch and Ryan Smith with 67 gross/61.5 net (after deducting 5.5 handicap).
Runners up were Ash Purdue, Wayne George and Sal Turner 74 (61.5 net). Third place getters were Debby and Peter Barling and Leonie Saunders with 75 (63 1/3 net).
Scratch winners )off the stick) were Jake Jess, Sue Sanford and Julie Bayles with a score of 70 (remembering that all place getters can only win one trophy).
Nearest the pin fifth hole were Brenton Cheney and Cindy McMillan. Closest on the seventh hole was Jake Jess and Debbie Lowe and on the 13th hole and major bonus was Ryan Smith.
Straightest drives were Graham Atkin and Debby Barling and longest drives were men Div. 1 Lachie Stewart, Div. 2 Jake Cheney and ladies Div. 1 Leonie Atkin and Div. 2 Cindy McMillan.
Again thank you to the Bentley Group for their continuous support. Participants said it was a great day.
