Warracknabeal Police have said goodbye to leading senior constable Peter Taylor after eight years in town.

LSC Taylor began at Warracknabeal Police Station in 2017, a day before Christmas, after returning to the force after "retiring" in 2015.

Two months on from calling time, LSC Taylor said he got "bored" and decided to make a comeback, expanding his service career to about 47 years.

His career has seen him spend time in Melbourne before shifting to the Wimmera and has been stationed in Horsham, Dimboola, Natimuk and now Warracknabeal.

LSC Taylor received the Victoria Police Service Medal and National Medal Second Clasp 2012, commemorating his dedication to the force after 35 years.

Now, almost eight years later, LSC Taylor is ready for the next chapter as he moves just over the border to Moama, New South Wales, where he has been building a house.
