Renowned puppet show performer CJ Finley delighted 23 local children during an exceptional performance at Rainbow Kindergarten on Thursday, August 28.

The show brought together 14 Prep and Grade 1 students from Rainbow P-12 College, as well as nine children from the kindergarten.

Kindergarten teacher Sue Western said she was thrilled with how the day unfolded.

“It was a happy morning, kids are happy, so we’re happy,” she said.

“CJ was in the area to do some shows at Nhill and Dimboola, so it was a fabulous chance for us to share it as well.

“Not the opportunities that we get very often, so when they actually come to Kinder, that’s even better.”

The joint event was part of the school’s transition program, providing kindergarten children with the opportunity to spend time with their future school friends.

“The reason behind inviting the P-12 kids is transition, so community contact,” Ms Western said.

“Most of the P-1 class have been Rainbow Kinder friends, and our Rainbow Kinder friends are going to be prep friends at Rainbow School.

“It’s a chance for them all to get to know each other and have a play together and have fun together.”

Ms Western also thanked the local community for their ongoing support.

“We have great support from our community, and our recent quiz night will help pay for our visitors like CJ,” she said.
