Rain brings rising river water dangers

LOCALS have been reminded to take care around the Wimmera River this last week, with higher flows of water requiring careful management by Horsham Rural City Council and Hindmarsh Shire Council.

Recent rainfall has translated into significantly-increased volumes of water in the Wimmera River, requiring ongoing monitoring by local councils. The Horsham Weir (pictured) was still delivering an impressive sight on Monday morning, as levels began to slowly lower.
