Rainbow down Hopetoun

Round six of the Dimboola District Tennis Association began Friday night, with Rainbow hosting Hopetoun.

In the mixed Hopetoun claimed a set, but it was Rainbow too strong winning 3 sets, 34 games to Hopetoun 1 set 18 games.

In the men’s Rainbow won all four sets for 36 games to Hopetoun’s 13 games and in the Women’s Rainbow again claimed all four sets for 36 games to Hopetoun’s 11 games.

Overall, Rainbow won the night five match points, 11 sets, 106 games to Hopetoun’s 1 set 42 games.

In the mixed Arkona took a set of Antwerp, but Antwerp was too strong overall claiming 3 sets for 33 games to Arkona’s 2 set, 17 games.

In the Men’s, similar to the mixed, again Arkona claimed a set, but it was Antwerp winning 3 sets for 34 games to Arkona’s 1 set 21 games.

In the women’s Antwerp were too strong winning all four sets for 36 games to Arkonas 11 games.

Overall, Antwerp claimed the five match points, winning 10 sets for 103 games to Arkona’s 2 sets and 49 games.

It was a close day with Warrack hosting Dimboola, coming down to games to determine the winner of each section.

In the mixed Dimboola claimed the win two sets, 34 games to Warracknabeal’s two sets 24 games. In the men’s, only three games separated them, with Dimboola again claiming the win two sets, 28 games to Warracknabeal’s two sets 25 games.

The women’s section was no different with Dimboola again claiming the win two sets, 28 games to Warracknabeal’s two sets 25 games.

Overall Dimboola won the day with 4.5 match points, 6 sets and 94 games, to Warracknabeal’s 0.5 match points, 6 sets, 74 games.

In the mixed, Brim proved too strong winning all 5 sets for 45 games to Jeparit’s 19 games.

The Men’s section followed, with Brim again claiming all five sets for 45 games to Jeparit’s 8 games.

In the Women’s Jeparit took 2 sets off Brim, but again Brim was too strong winning 3 sets for 31 games to Jeparit’s 2 sets, 35 games.

Overall, Brim claimed all five match points for 13 sets and 121 games to Jeparit’s 2 sets and 62 games.
