Rainbow set for festive night
Rainbow is getting ready for a big evening of Christmas celebrations, with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and the newly added Shopping Night taking place on Friday, December 5, along the main Federal Street.

The event, organised by Rainbow Town Advisory Committee, will begin at 4pm and feature late-night shopping, children’s activities, games, a community barbecue, and a special visit from Santa, followed by the tree being lit at 8.30pm.
Town committee member, Allira Roberts, said the aim is to bring people together while supporting local businesses.
“We are hoping to create a fun evening for everyone, and give people the opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done to support our local retailers,” she said.
“This is the second time that we have held this, but the first time that the Shopping Night has been incorporated.”
Ms Roberts said there will be plenty for families to enjoy.
“There will be activities and games for the kids and some games that the adults can get involved in too,” she said.
Attendees can meet and greet and have their photo taken with Santa.
Ms Roberts added that the night will end on a festive note.
“The night will be topped off with the lighting of the Community Christmas tree, with some carol singing,” she said.
"The Rainbow Lake Committee are holding the barbecue.
“Hopefully Santa will be making an appearance with a chance for photos to be taken.”
