The Horsham Motorcycle Club hosted 130 riders and 250 bikes in it's annual MX Amateurs event on Saturday, March 8, and Sunday, March 9.

A, B, and C grades were competing, as did juniors and memorial races for former club members Maggie Stacey and Bronte Holland were hotly contested.

Regan Holyoake, from Kinglake, north of Melbourne, won the Bronte Holland Memorial, while Brooke Marcus, from Mt Gambier, won the Maggie Stacey Memorial.

Horsham Motorcycle Club president Kenny Watts said it was a great weekend, especially as riders tried the new course for the first time.

"We had more numbers than last year, which was heat affected and had to be moved," Watts said.

"It was the first time for 20 odd years we changed the track's layout and had massive positive feedback about that.

"It was well received, and enabling access to the infield for spectators, making it much more accessible, worked out well."

The club's next big event is one of the year's highlights: the Barry Francis Western Region series, held on Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6.
