Rupanyup eye strong finish to season
Following last week’s surprise win over Natimuk United in men’s senior football, Rupanyup will hope to pull off another victory when they host Edenhope Apsley in round 16 of the Horsham District Football Netball League on Saturday.

Rupanyup’s victory over Natimuk was their first in eight games and puts them in a position to finish as high as seventh on the ladder.
Edenhope Apsley are still searching for their first win of the 2025 season and will look to put their disappointing 191-25 loss to Noradjuha Quantong behind them.
But the Saints will consider themselves a chance on Saturday, having been within two goals of Rupanyup before going down 90-66 in their previous encounter back in round five.
Cam Weston, coach of Rupanyup, is feeling optimistic about his side’s chances but won’t take the Saints lightly.
“We know that we beat Edenhope last time but it's never a sure thing,” Weston said.
“We're going into it with confidence from the weekend but we also know that it's always going to be a challenge.”
Weston says his side has the potential to keep winning till season’s end.
“We set ourselves these last four games as a bit of a mini finals series," he said.
“We’re hoping to win all four of them and we’ve ticked off the first box.
“We’ve been building in the previous few weeks.
“It probably didn’t show as much on the scoreboard that we were stringing together two or three quarters of good football and then one quarter let us down, whereas the team pulled it together against Natimuk.
“So if we can continue to do that, then hopefully we can shake up these last three games and have three wins.”
