The game was tight early, with the Warriors pushing the Saints to only trail by one goal at quarter-time.

The Saints started to find their groove and capitalised on turnovers, scoring 12 goals to seven to lead by six at the main break.

The Warriors fought hard in the third but the Saints kept them at bay, leading by six heading into the last quarter.

The Warriors battled hard in the last, but it was the Saints that withstood the challenge to win 35-30.

Rebecca Pohlner scored 20 goals for the Saints, with Kristy Robertson and Kira Hobbs scoring nine and six, respectively.

Michelle Beaton led the way for the Warriors with a game-high 21 goals, with Kristy Ainley scoring nine.

Team manager Ash Grace said it was a memorable win, especially with the changes they made at the start of the year and being part of her mum, Kristine's first premiership as coach.

"We had a similar team to last year, but with injuries costing us finals last year, we changed the team up and had some new additions," Grace said.

"Leah Adams came in, and she won the league best and fairest, so she has been a great asset to our team in defence.

"Tegan Ward is a consistent player, and everyone tries their hardest, and that's what it is all about. Team morale won the flag."

"It's pretty special to be a part of Mum's first premiership. She coached the team last year and has coached various grades in the past, and now that she has finally coached a premiership, it's special."

"Mum has always coached me, and it was finally my turn to help her out. It has been a privilege to help her as a team manager."
