Twenty-five players turned up at Jeparit Golf Club to enjoy the final day of the season.
The decision was made to play nine holes of Stableford with a twist, and then have the presentations and barbecue straight after.
This worked out well, as you could hit two balls off the tee and take the best one to continue playing through the hole.
The Ladies' winner with 25 points was Mel “El Capitan” Wagener, and runner-up was Jen “Wren” Bell with 20 points.
The Men's winner was Paul “Dinga” Bell on 22 points, and runner-up was Morgan Gatford with 19 points.
Nearest the pins for the Ladies on the 5th and 15th went to Beth “Bethy” Preston.
The Men's 5th went to Andrew Morton, and 15th to Michael Preston.
The Club Champions were announced and trophies presented.
The Men's A Grade Champion was Mickey Millar with 218 nett, and runner-up was Liam “Buzz” Preston 222 nett.
The Men's B Grade Champion was Tony “El Presidente” Foley with 188 nett, and runner-up was Andrew Morton on 199 nett.
The Ladies' Champion was Beth “Bethy” Preston with 208 nett, and the runner-up was Deb Lowe on 214 nett.
Accumulated vouchers were handed out to the weekly winners during the season, and eclectic prizes were presented by Beth.
Mel and Tony both praised all the volunteers - particularly greenkeeper Raymond “Harry” Schultz and his crew.
The Ladies' did a great job with food all season, and it was very nice of Deb Lowe to recognise the work put in all season by Mel and Tony with a gift.
It was a fitting end to a great season that saw the club enter a Men's Pennant team for the first time in a while, many members visited events at other clubs and represented us, and the club membership grew by 25 per cent.
We're already looking forward to next season; keep safe until then.
