Serviceton bowlers wrap up four big days
The period from Thursday March 12 to Sunday March 15 saw some members of Serviceton bowls club bowling four days in a row.

On the Thursday evening, Serviceton held our annual Australian Wool Network-sponsored bowls competition.
Players came from Bordertown, Kaniva, Nhill and everywhere in between for a fun night with bowlers and new-to-bowling people, including children to almost-90-year-olds.
Congratulations to the winners – all non-bowling club members – who bowled very well on the night: Byron Colls (skipper), Kim Krop, Paul Wallis and Pat Groocock.
The runner-up team had one bowling club member.
That was Darryl Grosser’s team with Phyllis Thompson, Theresa Prescott and Robyn Groocock.
Thank you Nick Lawrence and Caitlin Flannigan from AWN for the generous sponsorship and presenting the evening's trophies.
On Friday March 13, six Serviceton ladies enjoyed a great day at the Kaniva ladies' progressive triples farm-themed day.
Loma Wallis, Bev Makin and Gwen Colwill came third on the day.
Jenny Tink and Karen Shawcross came home with raffle prizes.
On Saturday club bowls at Serviceton was sponsored by the Kaniva Community Roadhouse.
The winners were Karen and Mark Shawcross.
And on Sunday March 15, Serviceton's Australia Day fours was played.
This had been postponed from January 26 due to very hot weather.
Players came from Mundulla, Bordertown, Kaniva, Nhill and Horsham.
They enjoyed fresh scones for morning tea, then after two games were served a delicious lunch before playing the last two games.
They then had a huge afternoon tea to top off a great day of bowling, reunions and meeting new friends.
The winner for the day was a school reunion team of Adrian Coad, Graham McDonald, Bruce Dodson and Ian Austin who went through school at Kaniva together and celebrated by bowling together at the Serviceton tournament.
They won with three wins and 85 points.
The runner-up team, from Mundulla, with three wins and 81 points, was Max Mead, Ross Bennett, Ian Watts and Peter Rowett.
We thank everyone who worked and played to make this day such a great success.
Saturday March 21 will be club bowls, then March 28 will be closing day
